What is eWaste?
E-waste is a popular, informal name for electronic products nearing the
end of their "useful life" such as computers, televisions, VCRs, stereos,
copiers, and fax machines are common electronic products. Many of these
products can be reused, refurbished, or recycled.
Is e-waste regulated?
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency does not regulate eWaste
management facilities. However, the EPA does require most organizations to
implement a system in place to show proper handling and disposal of certain
types of e-waste. It is important to regularly check and confirm compliance
with all federal, state, and local regulations.
